September 17, 2026

For the first time, a group of reality television newbies will have to deceive each other and figure out who among them is a Faithful or a Traitor in NBC’s season of “The Traitors: New Blood.”

The show, which will feature all-civilians, will introduce its cast of 22 competitors to viewers when it airs Thursday, Sept. 17.

Ahead of the epic two-hour episode, the network shared the identities of the Faithfuls and Traitors fans will see move into the mysterious Scottish Highlands castle and compete to win up to $250,000. The cast list also featured the unveiling of each contestant’s mischievous headshot, a tease of their portraits that will hang in the breakfast room. That is until they are either murdered or banished and host Alan Cumming playfully discards them.

NBC also shared the contestants’ hometowns, occupation and their “self-declared superlative.”

Competing this season are an astrophysicist, pilot, therapist and murder-mystery writer. But surely not everyone will be completely forthcoming about their background as soon as they enter the castle.

The 22 competitors were hand-selected from over 80,000 applicants, NBC said in a press release. They will usher in a new era for the U.S. version of the franchise, which has only featured celebrity contestants in the four seasons currently streaming on Peacock.

The NBC version will follow the same format with the help of James and Oliver Phelps, who will work with Cumming as the new castle keepers.

Viewers can see the players meet and begin plotting their strategies when the first two episodes of “The Traitors: New Blood” air on NBC at 8 p.m ET/PT as part of a special two-hour extended premiere. They will also be available to stream the next day on Peacock.

Episodes 3 and 4 will also air back-to-back on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. PT/ET.

Then, new episodes will continue to arrive every Thursday at the same time on the network.

So, who do you think was selected as a Traitor, tasked with concealing their identity all season long? And which contestants will have to sleuth out the murderers as Faithfuls? Make your predictions as you meet the cast below.
