Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Banijay Americas, has named Emmy-winning producer and director Jerry Rodriguez as its new head of scripted content and Senior Vice President, it was announced today by Alejandro Rincon, CEO, Endemol Shine Boomdog.
Rodriguez, who most recently served as Chief Creative Officer at Mexico City-based ArgosMedia Group, is a recognized TV producer and director of comedy and drama programming. Rodriguez has produced such series as Viacom International Studio’s series Dani Who? and Comedy Central’s Drunk History Latin America, which he wrote, produced and directed for three seasons.
Rodriguez has been with ArgosMedia in various leading roles since first joining the company in 1999. In his new role, Rodriguez will lead Boomdog’s award-winning scripted team, which is behind such recent series as Súbete a Mi Moto (Amazon Prime), Nicky Jam: El Ganador (Netflix) and the just announced comedy series Todo por Lucy (a re-imagined versión of the classic comedy I Love Lucy) for Amazon Prime.
“Jerry brings with him a wealth of TV production oversight and experience and he’s the perfect executive to help us lead our forthcoming expansion of scripted development and output,” says Rincon. “He also has tremendous relationships with all of the key buyers in the marketplace and a true understanding of what it takes to launch and successfully promote new series.”

Since 2015, Rodriguez had served as Chief Creative Officer at ArgosMedia Group, where he was responsible for the creative supervision of all the scripted and unscripted content produced by the group. He also oversaw the overall look and feel of all marketing, media and branding materials for ArgosMedia Group and all of its companies.
Rodriguez had also served simultaneously as General Director for Mexico City-based Headroom, a boutique production company owned by ArgosMedia Group. In that role, Rodriguez managed a 10-person in-house team responsible for all project development, creative direction and production of drama and comedy series for broadcast and cable networks, as well as streaming platforms.
Through Headroom, Rodriguez produced and served as showrunner on Dani Who? for Viacom International Studios, produced and directed three seasons of Comedy Central Latin America’s Drunk History and produced five seasons of Stand-Up Comedy for Comedy Central, as well. Rodriguez has spent more than two decades with ArgosMedia Group, serving in different positions that range from lead editor to lead writer, director, producer, showrunner and as Chief Creative Officer since 2015.
Rodriguez won an International Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction for ESPN’s Olympic Suite in 2017, was nominated for an International Emmy for Disney Channel’s Casting Zone and was honored for Best Script for Aventure at the Pantalla De Cristal Festival in 2003.
Rodriguez has also led the promotional campaigns for dozens of TV series and films, including Las Aparicio, Infames, Bienvenida Realidad, El Sexo Debil, Fortuna and Las Trampas del Deseo.
