Prime Video Greenlights LOL: Last One Laughing Argentina

Prime Video today announced the greenlight of the Amazon Original Series LOL: Last One Laughing Argentina. The latest installment of the Emmy-winning and wildly hilarious comedy competition series, will be led by Susana Giménez, will feature a mix of renowned and up-and-coming comedians from across Argentina, as they battle it out for a big cash prize that will be donated to a non-governmental organization (NGO) selected by the winner. LOL: Last One Laughing Argentina will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

“We couldn’t ask for a better host in Susana Giménez. Her presence will bring global attention to the comedy scene in Argentina. She is an icon and will command the house with her style and persona. We are sure Prime Video members will enjoy this show as much as our audiences in the rest of the world,” said Javiera Balmaceda, Amazon Studios head of Local Originals for Latin America, Canada, and Australia.

Leguizamo is also the showrunner, and the show is produced by Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic. This series is an adaptation of the tremendously popular Japanese Prime Original, HITOSHI MATSUMOTO Presents Documental, produced and starring Hitoshi Matsumoto, who invites 10 comedians to bet money on a “battle of laughter behind closed doors” where everything goes.
