Emmy Award-winning executive producers Glenda Hersh and Steven Weinstock, the New York-based co-CEOs of Truly Original (a Banijay company), have been expanding the company’s development infrastructure on the West Coast under Head of Development Chachi Senior, who joined the company in January 2020.

Working with Senior and Truly Original’s Vice President of Development Erin Mechanic (who joined the company just as COVID was taking hold in March 2020) is new Vice President, Development and Talent, Christy Coffey, who will oversee casting and talent relations for the company. Coffey was previously casting director at Big Fish Entertainment, as well as Viacom and Netflix, with credits including Teen Mom, The Hills: Next Gen and Martha Knows Best.

The trio is based out of Truly Original’s offices in Venice, CA, and the company is in the process of growing its development and production ranks there even further, as it amps up its focus on deals and partnerships with West Coast-based talent – earlier this year the company announced a deal with James Wan’s Atomic Monster – and big noisy formats and documentaries.

The Senior-led development team also includes key development executives based in Truly Original’s New York headquarters, including Stephanya Bareham and Lucas Howe, both VPs of development, and Cat Cambra, sr. director of development.

Said Senior, “There is so much happening with talent in LA and that in-person contact is so important. I’ve been working with Erin for a decade – there’s no one better in the format game – and to have gotten to the point where we need a dedicated West Coast casting head is amazing, and we’re not done yet. Under Steven and Glenda, our New York and LA operations work together seamlessly, which puts Truly in a great position to serve the needs of all platforms.”

Truly Original is known for such franchises as The Real Housewives (Atlanta, Potomac and Dubai), Ink Master, Swamp People, and Summer House and Winter House; long-running hits including Shahs of Sunset, Family Karma, Basketball Wives, and The Last Cowboy with executive producer Taylor Sheridan, and comedic game shows like Deal or No Deal and Would I Lie to You.
