WarnerMedia OneFifty and Banijay Americas have joined forces to create an unparalleled partnership and incubator program designed to develop unscripted series from artists with authentic visions and perspectives. The partnership, which was designed by Axel Caballero (Head of WarnerMedia OneFifty) and Karla Pita Loor (Executive Vice President, Enterprise Inclusion & Social Responsibility at Banijay Americas) will incubate original projects from artists who have strong cultural aesthetics in the docuseries space.
Each of the selected creators will receive a grant from WarnerMedia OneFifty, in addition to development deals with participating Banijay Americas’ production studios to support their projects and prep them to sell to potential buyers. Up to five creators will be selected and there will be a submission process, details of which will be shared a later date. At the end of the incubation period, which is yet to be determined, Banijay Americas will partner with WarnerMedia OneFifty to pitch the projects with first right of refusal given to WarnerMedia properties.
WarnerMedia OneFifty is an artistic studio and content innovation brand within WarnerMedia’s Corporate Social Responsibility department. The brand has funded and acquired award-winning domestic and international projects in a variety of genres including scripted and unscripted series, narrative and documentary features, animation, horror/thriller, and audio stories.
Banijay Americas delivers award-winning content across North America and Latin America. The division is comprised of nine individual production labels across three territories, creating high-quality content in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Banijay Americas studios’ Bunim/Murray Productions (THE CHALLENGE, THE REAL WORLD HOMECOMING), Truly Original (THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA, INK MASTER), and 51 Minds Entertainment (BELOW DECK, MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE) are all participating in the unique program.
“We are delighted and excited to partner with Banijay Americas on this exciting new venture. Creating these types of partnerships will ensure that WarnerMedia OneFifty achieves its goals of uncovering creativity and untold stories with content from undiscovered artists,” said Axel Caballero, Head of WarnerMedia OneFifty.
“We are thrilled to partner with WarnerMedia OneFifty on this first of its kind initiative, which reflects our commitment to uplifting artists with authentic visions and talent, providing them a platform to develop and tell their unique stories,” says Banijay Americas’ Pita Loor. “Having our colleagues at 51 Minds, Bunim/Murray and Truly Original participate will ensure that selected storytellers have the support and expertise they need to develop, sell and produce their series.”
