Alicia Machado Was Crowned Champion of Telemundo’s Hit Reality Competition La Casa De Los Famosos’ During Last Night’s Coast-to-Coast Live Finale

The highly-anticipated grand finale of Telemundo’s La Casa de los Famosos, Spanish-language TV’s #1 weekday primetime reality program, culminated last night when hosts Sandarti and Jimena Gállego announced Alicia Machado as champion of the hit reality competition. After twelve weeks of pure excitement, drama and suspense, Machado received the most audience votes on Telemundo.com/LaCasaDeLosFamosos, winning the coveted $200,000 cash prize at the end of the three-hour live broadcast. Manelyk González was declared second finalist, Kelvin Rentería third finalist, Cristina Eustace fourth finalist and Pablo Montero the fifth finalist. Since the beginning of the reality competition until the closing of the online voting during the finale, the total number of votes exceeded 220 million. La Casa de los Famosos returns to Telemundo with a second season in 2022.

With a successful career that includes telenovelas, films and reality shows, Machado is one of U.S. Hispanic television’s most renowned personalities. Crowned Miss Universe in 1996, the Venezuelan-born personality became one of the most controversial and most discussed contestants in social media and on La Casa de los Famosos since her surprise arrival during premiere night. Her shocking confessions, romances, and leadership throughout the twelve weeks of coexistence was seen during the weeknight primetime edition and through the exclusive 24/7 access on Telemundo.com. During the final phase of the competition, the talented and charismatic personality was the first celebrity to be announced as a finalist. Machado has also starred in several prominent television productions, including Telemundo’s “Gran Oportunidad,” “Unforgivable,” “Brilla Por Ti,” and “¡He Matado a Mi Marido!,” among others.

In celebration of the grand finale, Telemundo will air a reunion special tonight at 7pm/6c, hosted by Sandarti and Gállego, together with the winner and previous celebrity participants.

La Casa de los Famosos opened a window into celebrities’ most intimate moments, offering viewers an unfiltered and unparalleled multiplatform experience via linear and the 24/7 exclusive access streaming feed on Telemundo.com, which reached over 791 million minutes watched and generated over 33 million livestream views. Throughout the competition hosted by Sandarti and Gállego, audiences voted to determine which celebrity would leave the house each week, in addition to selecting their favorite to be crowned the winner. With more than 50 hidden cameras and 60 microphones set to capture every aspect of the housemates’ lives, audiences across the country have witnessed the dynamic alliances, rivalries and romances of these popular Hispanic figures unfold as they competed to bring home the cash prize.
